Thanksgiving always has us counting our on-screen blessings. This year, we’re particularly thankful to have Katherine Pierce (Nina Dobrev) as part of our television family! Here are five reasons why The Vampire Diaries’ oldest-living human has earned our thanks this holiday season.

It’s hard to talk about TVD without discussing its trademark wit — and Katherine has some of the very best lines. Whether she’s trying to worm her way out of a precarious situation or has complete control over her life, her honesty always manages to make us laugh. Or think. Sometimes, both.
