THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS, DO NOT READ ANY FARTHER IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED!!!
Season 4 of the Vampire Diaries will not kick off until October, but the good news is that we’re already getting word on what we can expect when the show does return. Season 3 focused in very heavily on the story of the original family, and now thanks to an interview the show’s executive producer Kevin Williamson did with IGN, we’ve learned that once the writers came up with that particular story, they knew that the next stage would be Elena turning into a vampire. Apparently, this twist has been in the works for quite some time, and is something they’ve been working to set up over the course of the last two seasons. IN fact, Williamson said that the most moving moment for him was when Elena actually said that she did not want to be a vampire. With that in mind, the EP says that this sentiment will drive the entire fourth season for a long time. Nina Dobrev recently stated that she knows that Elena is going to struggle a lot with keeping her humanity, and the fact that, without having any sort of choice, the rest of her life will be supernatural. What are all of my fellow-TVD fans expecting? Will Elena turn on all of her friends? Will she become an all-out violent vampire? And what will this mean for her friendships with the non-vampires on the show? Lots of questions to discuss — so hit the comments section to join in! I’m Joslyn Davis in Hollywood, thanks for watching and we’ll see you next time!
